The HEPA Gap

HEPA misses the smallest stuff — like the H3N2 flu virus*

HEPA filters stop at about 300 nm. Influenza (including H3N2) and rhinovirus are smaller than that, so they pass straight through. TPA's charged plates capture them anyway — down to 14.6 nm.

AirSoap TPA Captures — everything, down to 14.6 nm HEPA Catches — only down to 300 nm Dust & Pollen 5,000–10,000 nm Bacteria E. coli · Salmonella Cigarette Smoke 300–500 nm Wildfire Smoke 212–400 nm Influenza & Coronavirus 80–140 nm Rhinovirus ~30 nm AirSoap TPA Captures everything, down to 14.6 nm HEPA Catches only to 300 nm Dust & Pollen 5,000–10,000 nm Wildfire Smoke 212–400 nm Influenza & Coronavirus 80–140 nm

HEPA catches everything down to about 300 nm — dust, bacteria, even cigarette smoke. But finer wildfire smoke, influenza, coronavirus, and rhinovirus slip right through. AirSoap's TPA captures everything HEPA does — and more, down to 14.6 nm.

The Trouble with Filters

A HEPA filter is a recurring cost — and can become the problem

Filters don't just miss the small stuff. They pile up waste, drain your wallet, and when they're not changed, they can make your air worse.

Waste — for the planet and your wallet

Disposable fiberglass filters get replaced one to two times a year and head straight to a landfill. Over the life of a purifier that's hundreds to $1,000+ in refills.* AirSoap's plates rinse clean and go right back in — no refills, no waste.

A dirty filter pollutes your own air

HEPA only traps — it doesn't kill. Left unchanged, captured bacteria and mold can grow inside the filter and get blown back into your room, adding pollution to the air you're trying to clean. TPA neutralizes microbes in the ionic field, so there's nothing living left to recirculate.

The Technology

Trapping isn't the same as cleaning

TPA (Two-Pole Active) filtration, powered by Airdog, takes a fundamentally different approach to a HEPA net — it charges, neutralizes, and collects in a single pass.

Passive · HEPA

Catch and hold

Air is forced through a dense fiber filter. Larger particles get stuck, living microbes can survive inside it, and anything smaller than ~300 nm passes straight through. As the filter loads up, airflow and performance drop — and the filter heads to a landfill.

→ Traps what it can
Active · TPA

Charge, neutralize, capture

Incoming particles are given an electric charge, then neutralized in a high-energy ionic field that inactivates bacteria and viruses. The charged remains are drawn onto reusable collection plates — down to 14.6 nm. The plates rinse clean and go right back in.

→ Eliminates what passes through
How TPA Works

Five stages, one pass of air

Watch the air move through the system. Large particles are caught right at the pre-filter. The smallest ones slip through — then get charged at the emitter, neutralized in the ionic field, and held on the collection plates.

01

Pre-Filter

Catches hair, pet dander, and large debris as air is drawn in.

02

Emitter Wires

A high-voltage field gives every passing particle an electric charge.

03

Ionic Field

Charged particles are neutralized — bacteria and viruses inactivated.

04

Collection Plates

The charged remains cling to washable, reusable plates.

05

Catalytic Layer

A final pass removes odors, VOCs, and trace ozone.

TPA vs. HEPA

The difference is measurable

Not a marketing distinction — a mechanical one. Here's how active filtration compares to the filter you're used to replacing.

What It Does For You

Built for the air your home actually has

Odors, dander, smoke, pollen, mold, germs — the X3 goes after the things you notice and the things you can't see.

Odors & Smells

The catalytic stage breaks down cooking smells, bathroom odors, and stale air at the molecular level — not a fragrance mask, actual removal.

Pets & Dander

Pet dander and hair are some of the most persistent indoor allergens. The pre-screen grabs hair while TPA captures the fine dander floating at nose height.

Smoke & Wildfire

Wildfire haze and cigarette smoke are ultrafine — far below HEPA's floor. TPA charges and collects particles down to 14.6 nm, where smoke actually lives.

Allergies & Pollen

Pollen, dust mites, and seasonal allergens get charged and pulled from the air you breathe — independently lab-tested for allergen removal.

Mold & Spores

Mold spores don't just get trapped where they can keep growing — TPA's ionic field inactivates them, so they're neutralized, not stored in a filter.

Viruses & Sickness

Tested to destroy 99.9% of germs† and shown effective against airborne viruses — inactivating them in the ionic field instead of letting them survive in a filter.

At Home

Clean air that fits the room

Quiet enough for the bedroom, powerful enough for the living room — the X3 disappears into your space and just works.

Features

Smart where it counts, simple to live with

Everything on the X3 earns its place — real sensing, real airflow, and zero ongoing filter costs.

Real-time AQI sensor

Auto mode reads your air quality and adjusts fan speed on its own to keep it clean and efficient.

Sleep mode + night light

Runs about 30 dB on its low setting and dims its lights; a motion-sensing night light (exclusive to the X3) glows only when you move.

Washable plates, forever

Rinse the collecting plates in the sink and reuse them for years. No subscriptions, no replacements, no landfill.

4 speeds + 360° airflow

A 360-degree intake and 120 CFM clean-air delivery clear a 425 sq ft room in about 30 minutes.

Whisper-quiet by design

With no dense HEPA filter choking airflow, the fan moves more air while spinning slower — and quieter — than comparable filter purifiers.

Energy efficient

Just ~24 W at full speed — about half the energy of forcing air through a dense HEPA filter.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is TPA and how does it sanitize the air?+

A burst of charged energy forms the core of AirSoap's TPA (Two-Pole Active) filtration, powered by Airdog. This electrical force zaps and polarizes particles instantly upon interaction. This process kills bacteria and viruses. Leftover specks are electrically active through this polarization. Those altered particles then stick to reusable graphene plates inside (which are designed for repeated washing and reuse). Instead of just holding contaminants like standard filters do, this process polarizes, kills harmful microbes, then captures everything floating on the reusable plates. Sanitation improves because destruction comes before collection.

What room size can the AirSoap X3 cover?+

The AirSoap X3 is rated to cover rooms up to 860 square feet, making it suitable for bedrooms, home offices, nurseries, and living areas. For larger spaces up to 1600 square feet, like classrooms or apartments, the AirSoap X5 offers greater coverage. The X3 measures 21 inches tall by 10.25 inches wide, so it has a relatively compact footprint for the coverage area it serves.

How do you sanitize the AirSoap collecting plates?+

It is time to wash your plates when either 1) that red glow shows up on top or 2) you start to hear crackling or popping. Pull out the graphene plates, rinse under tap flow or slide into a dishwasher slot. Plates must be completely dry prior to putting them back inside. Use a damp towel to wipe down the ion wireframe and the inside of X3. Even after many rinses, the graphene material holds its form, thanks to resilience baked into its structure. Repeated sanitizing works fine, year after year, without breakdown. Buying new filters? Never needed, not once.

Does the AirSoap kill viruses in the air?+

Yes. Lab tests show the AirSoap X3 wipes out more than 99.9% of Influenza A - H3N2 germs. Instead of sucking particles into a filter, it uses TPA to create a charged zone that obliterates microbes mid-air. These broken-down threats then stick to collection plates, already dead. Unlike HEPA systems - where live bugs linger inside damp filters and might multiply or escape later - the dangers here vanish right away. Because destruction happens first, survival becomes impossible. That shift changes everything behind how sanitized air gets. AirSoap can even remove mold from the air.

How loud is the AirSoap X3?+

At its gentlest, the AirSoap X3 hums at just 30 dB - so soft it slips beneath even a hushed voice. A full blast hits 65 dB, about as loud as a normal conversation. This calm comes from how it moves air: TPA pushes flow without forcing it through a dense filter, unlike HEPA cleaners that shove breath through thick filters using noisy motors. While those rely on brute airflow, this one glides quietly by design. Nighttime use? Plenty keep it spinning beside beds with zero bother.
