Place your phone
Lay your phone — or keys, earbuds, cards, a watch — in the bay and close the lid.
Close the lid
With the lid shut, the 360-degree cycle runs for ten minutes and powers down by itself. Open it back up and your phone comes out sanitized.

Does PhoneSoap Basic charge my phone?
There's no built-in charger — that's what makes Basic our most affordable model. But it does have a cable pass-through on the side: thread your own charging cable inside and your phone will charge while it sanitizes. You just supply your own charging block (the included cable powers the unit's UV-C lights). For charging built right in with no extra cable, step up to the PhoneSoap 3, which adds dual USB-A and USB-C ports.
Does PhoneSoap Basic sanitize as well as the more expensive models?
Yes. PhoneSoap Basic uses the same germicidal UV-C bulbs and the same 360-degree chamber technology as the rest of the line, independently lab-tested to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria in a 10-minute cycle. The only thing it leaves out is built-in charging, which is what makes it our most affordable UV sanitizer box.
Will PhoneSoap Basic fit my phone?
Yes. PhoneSoap Basic fits virtually all modern smartphones, including large models, and most slim cases slide right in. For the very biggest phones in thick, rugged cases, the wider chamber of the PhoneSoap Pro is the better fit.
What can I sanitize besides my phone?
Anything small and hard-surfaced that fits in the bay: keys, earbuds, AirPods, credit cards, a watch, jewelry, sunglasses, a pacifier. All PhoneSoap testing is done on hard, non-porous surfaces. For tablets, baby bottles, keyboards or several items at once, the larger HomeSoap is the one you want.
Is PhoneSoap Basic safe for my phone's screen and camera?
Yes. It uses only UV-C light — no heat, no liquid, no chemicals, and nothing that touches the screen — so it's gentle on touchscreens, lenses, and oil-repelling coatings while still killing germs. The lights switch off the instant the lid opens, keeping the UV-C safely inside.

Does it remove smudges or fingerprints?
