Allergy Season is Back

Allergy Season is Back

Fall is here, which means a whole new batch of allergies is out to get us. Hay fever, lingering warm weather, pesky leaves, and school allergens, just to name a few. Allergies mean sneezing, coughing and runny eyes and nose. Allergies mean the risk of you and your kids getting sick skyrocket. Let’s talk about how to beat those allergies.

1. Wash your hair.

The dirt and dust that causes all of the sneezing and sniffing can get trapped in your hair. Washing your hair daily will clear all of the gunk from around your face creating a clean atmosphere for you to breathe.

2. Take a bath.

According to one study, seasonal allergy (hay fever) sufferers had a more extreme reaction the day after performing a stressful task.

“Stress raises levels of the hormone cortisol,” says Clifford Bassett, MD, an allergist at New York University Medical Center, and that often leads to an amped-up allergic response.

A soak in the tub will do just the trick.

3. Clear your nose.

“Your nose is like a car windshield—pollen sticks to it,” says Neil Kao, MD, an allergist at the Allergic Disease and Asthma Center, in Greenville, S.C.

Make sure to always keep it clean for you and everyone around you.

4. Wash your bedding.

Wash all of your bedding weekly in water that’s at least 140 degrees. A study in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology found that this temperature wiped out all dust mites.

4. Disinfect your phone.

Chances are, when you sneeze or cough, your phone was somewhere near to catch it all. PhoneSoap 3 will disinfect and charge your phone in 10 minutes, kiling 99.99% of bacteria and viruses*, leaving you worry-free about spreading germs.

PhoneSoap 3 has also been tested to be 99.99% effective against Salmonella, H1N1, rotavirus, and rhinovirus using a modified ASTM E1153 and ASTM E1053-11 for efficacy of UV light on general hard non-porous surfaces such as glass, metals, and plastics.
