What Cleaning Agents Work Best Against COVID-19?
While “scrappy” seems far too nice of a word to describe COVID-19, this nasty virus is certainly persistent. With cases being reported constantly, and kids and teachers back at school, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Knowing that hot water alone cannot kill COVID-19, what is the best cleaning agent to use against it?
Here’s the good news: The EPA has assembled a massive list of products that can be used to fight COVID-19. For the full list, check out their website.
The bad news: A lot of those options are intended for places like hospitals that do cleaning and disinfecting on a huge scale and need lots of product that isn’t suitable for the average home.
Fortunately, we’re here to save you from ripping out your hair in frustration as you Google one of the EPA products only to find out that it’s actually a drum of disinfectant used to clean a stethoscope. To keep your sanity fullly intact, we’ve assembled a list of household cleaning products sure to fight those nasty germs when used as directed.

What are the best practices for fighting COVID-19?
The best practices are the simple answers you’ve been hearing all along: wear masks, wash hands, use sanitizer, and use the PhoneSoap 3 or HomeSoap. Your hands pick up germs, and what’s in your hands all the time? That’s right—your phone, your keys, your credit cards. By using tone of our UV disinfection tools, you can eliminate 99.99% of germs* at the push of a button and increase your likelihood (and that of those around you) of avoiding all kinds of viruses.
As to whether PhoneSoap (and UV-C light in general) can kill coronavirus specifically, only organizations like the CDC and those working to contain COVID-19 have access to this novel strain of coronavirus to test, so PhoneSoap has not tested and cannot claim that our products kill COVID-19. That being said, we do know that coronavirus is an enveloped virus, similar to Influenza A (H1N1), which we have tested and know that PhoneSoap kills at a 99.99% reduction rate.*
