Most humidifiers fix dry air by making everything else wet
An ultrasonic humidifier works by shattering water into a fine fog and blowing it into the room. Those droplets have to land somewhere.
Wet surfaces are where mold starts
Mist settles on floors, windowsills, nightstands and walls. A damp surface in a warm room is the ideal place for mold and bacteria to take hold — so the machine solves your dry air and quietly creates a second problem.
That white dust is your tap water
The fine powder on your furniture is dissolved minerals, atomised along with the water and left behind when each droplet dries. It lands on your surfaces, and some of it stays in the air you breathe.

Spray it into the room
A vibrating plate shatters water into a visible fog and a fan pushes it out. The droplets carry dissolved minerals with them, settle on whatever is nearby, and over-humidify the space right around the unit while the far side of the room stays dry.
Let it evaporate
Water wicks into a filter with an enormous surface area. Circulating fans draw dry room air across it, and the air picks up only as much moisture as it can actually hold. Nothing leaves the machine as liquid — no droplets, no minerals, no fog.
The problem isn't the water. It's the water that stays.
Every humidifier has a wet filter and a tank of standing water inside it. Most leave both alone between runs — which is where the smell, and the mold, come from. The H2O deals with each of them, and both run on their own.
Humidify
Room air is drawn across the wet filter and carries moisture away with it. Nothing leaves the unit as liquid.
Disinfect
Every hour, an electrolyte module runs for five minutes and treats the standing water in the tank.
Dry

Does the AirSoap H2O produce visible mist?+
No. It humidifies by cold evaporation rather than atomising water into a fog. Dry room air is drawn across a wet filter and leaves carrying moisture as vapour, so nothing exits the unit as a droplet. That is why there is no damp ring on the nightstand and no white mineral dust on nearby surfaces.
How does the AirSoap H2O prevent mold?+

How do I clean the filter?+
Take it out and put it in the washing machine with your normal laundry. It is designed to be washed and reused for as long as you own the unit, so there is no replacement filter to buy and no descaling routine to keep up with. The automatic dry mode is what keeps it fresh between washes.
How often will I need to refill it?+
The tank holds 3 litres and the unit puts out up to 303 ml per hour at its highest manual setting, so a full tank runs roughly ten hours flat out and considerably longer on lower levels or in Smart mode. Refilling is done from the top, so the unit stays where it is and there is no tank to carry to the sink.
How loud is the AirSoap H2O?+
Between 30 and 40 dB depending on the level - quieter than a typical ultrasonic humidifier, which usually runs 40 to 50 dB. At the low end it sits below normal conversation and below most refrigerators, which is why plenty of people run it in a bedroom overnight.
Can I use tap water?+
Yes. Because nothing is atomised, the dissolved minerals in tap water stay behind in the tank and on the filter instead of being sprayed around the room as white dust. That is also why the washable filter matters - washing it is how those minerals leave.
